Kyou handed over a glass of cold Oolong tea to Makoto.
They were sitting in Kyou's small apartment room. Kyou had cleaned up and set the table in the middle of the room to put the glasses and a plate of snacks that Makoto brought from home. The boy's luggages were placed in the corner of the room. It was only a traveling bag and 2 plastic bags that filled with fresh vegetables and some snacks.
"So, how's everybody back home? Are they healthy?"
"Yes, they're all fine. But Chino-baachan, the one who has a field by the river, ["Yes I remember her," said Kyou] kept asking about you. She was wondering when you will go home. It's been a while since the last time you went home. She misses you a lot. We all miss you a lot."
Kyou smiled wryly. He used to go to his hometown at least once in a month. But he hadn't had time in the past half year because his business with his classes, work, and lately; Mochidzuki.
"You have a girlfriend?"
"What? N-no!" Kyou denied. But then he rephrased it. "Well, I used to have a lover [a sex buddy, actually, he said inside his heart], but we broke up just a while ago."
"Need me to comfort you?"
Makoto smiled seductively and approaching Kyou in suggestive way.
"Hey, Mako! Don't joke around!"
He stopped Makoto by his shoulder. But the younger boy kept coming and his face was getting closer and closer to Kyou's.
Kyou put his large hand over Makoto's face to avoid his kiss.
"That's not funny, Makoto!" Kyou said, pushing the face away.
Makoto returned to his seat and pouted.
"You're no fun."
"You can't joke about kisses. It was a precious thing you only share with your lover," Kyou said.
Then he stayed quiet by his own words.
Yes, Kyou was completely forgotten about that. He was the one who said to Mochidzuki that there would be no kissing involved when he was being forced to sleep with him. But since when did he start to kiss Mochidzuki? Did Mochidzuki ever notice it? That he started kissing him because he loved him?
Kyou chuckled by his own thought.
"Kyou-chan? What's the matter?" Makoto asked in confusion.
"Nothing," Kyou grinned and ruffled Makoto's hair. "I still love that person very much, so I really can't joke about kisses."
Makoto was a little bit surprised by the expression shown in Kyou's face. It was a loving smile he had never seen before. He knew that Kyou was kind to everybody, and he was always smiling. But never like this. It was like the aura surrounding him was filled in pink, full of love, very heart warming and almost cute. If he told Kyou that he looked cute right now, he’d sure getting a slap on the head for talking nonsense.
"You're really falling in love, aren't you, Kyou-chan?" Makoto smiled, "It's showing all over your face."
"It does?" Kyou rubbed his blushed face with both hand, trying to erase the color off his face. But failed.
Makoto held his hand and took it off his face. "I'm happy for you. But also feeling kind of sad because my Kyou-chan isn't mine anymore."
"I'm not yours from the beginning," Kyou half jokingly protested.
"Yes, yes. You're ours, then."
Both of them laughed.
"Say, if you don't have a girlfriend and not living with anyone here, can I stay for few days? Just until I find a job and a new place to live," Makoto asked.
"I don't mind you stay here as long as you like."
"But I do mind. You might get myself a new lover and want to spend our time together without worrying about someone else, don't you?"
"Maybe. But not in the short time."
Makoto waved in front of his face, "Nah, I'm leaving home because I want to live alone. When I say alone; it means alone. And I want to have a lover and bring them home too."
"Wow, you're thinking about sex already?!"
"Kyou-chan, I'm already 18! Of course I'm thinking about sex. Boys of my age are usually not virgin anymore!"
"I was, until 3 months ago."
Makoto sighed. "That was almost embarrassing, hearing it from 21 years old guy."
"Hey, I was saving it for the one I love."
"Yeah, yeah," he waved his hand in front of his face. Ignoring Kyou's words.
"Say, Mako."
"Hmm?"
"Are you sure you don't want to go to college?"
Makoto shook his head. "I'm not smart and not talented like you, Kyou-chan. It's easier for me to find a job and start working instead of burdening kaasan and tousan too long."
Kyou cupped his large hand on both Makoto's cheek, and look deeply into his eyes.
"Promise me that you won't find any funny kind of job with easy money just because you have pretty face. Okay?"
Makoto pouted. "You think I'm that low?"
"No! I just worry that you'll take the wrong path. Tokyo can be such an alluring temptation, yet, it can also be a horrible nightmare for village people like us."
"I'm not a kid anymore. I know what's right and what's not."
"Good. I'll call some of my friends and ask them about another cheap apartment and a job vacancy."
"Thanks Kyou-chan." Makoto smiled and gave Kyou a warm hug.
* * * * *
It's true that you'd start to appreciate things when they're gone. And realizing that everything that happened before was taken for granted.
Mochidzuki had just understand the meaning of it now.
Days without Kyou made him felt empty. As if there was a big hole inside him, no matter what he did, he couldn't be satisfied.
His food didn't feel as tasty as it supposed to. Not even the classy meal in a famous restaurant with 1st rate chef.
He also tried to sleep with other men, and always chose the big, tall, tough looking guy like Kyou. Yet, none of them could satisfy him. It wasn't just because the shape and the size weren’t the same. The sex was good, but it wasn't satisfying.
It was because they're not Kyou.
And he thought that his phobia was healed. But when someone touched him, he still freaked. The feeling of others touch on his body grossed him out to the extent that he wanted to vomit.
None of them were as gentle as Kyou.
Everything felt wrong.
Nothing he did can mend the hole inside him.
So, why him?
Why it had to be Kyou?
Suddenly his head was filled with the image of Ooguma Kyou.
Kyou's existence in his life for the past few months was somewhat flowed so natural. It was as if he had been there with him for so long. And without him, nothing would be the same anymore.
There's a strange feeling in his heart everytime he remembered him. The squeezing feeling inside his chest that ran up to his throat and choked him tight. Made him hard to breathe. His stomach twisted and turned and sent out this funny tingling sensation.
He missed him.
He never missed anyone in his life before. Not even his dead mother, or his Yakuza father. He used to be fine on his own. So why did he need Kyou right now?
It just didn't make any sense!
A day after he broke up with Kyou, he sent one of his minions to spy on Kyou—like he did before.
The next day, the minion reported to him that Kyou went home drunk with a blonde guy, who left several hours later just before the last train stop operating. He also brought a photo prove at the time when the blonde carried Kyou home.
He didn't know how he'd get angry with the report. So he sent the minion again to spy on Kyou for several days.
When the minion asked him whether if he wanted him to 'deal' with Kyou; he got a kick on his shin and left with limping steps.
And in the end of the day, the minion came back and reported to him that Kyou started to live with a pretty boy.
He got furious in no reason.
